About the volunteering opportunity

More and more people in Germany are unable to “feed themselves adequately and with dignity.” Particularly affected are children from households receiving basic income support, retirees, refugees, and people experiencing homelessness. As part of this event, we’ll work with you to prepare nutritious sandwiches, which the vostel team will then deliver to an emergency shelter, where they’ll be distributed.

Your Tasks

At the beginning, you will receive a short introduction on the topic of homelessness with current statistics and ways to help.

Within your group, the following tasks will be divided:

  • Cutting the vegetables
  • Preparing the sandwiches
  • Labeling the wrappers

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity you don't need any German skills.

What to bring

Long hair must be tied back during preparation. Any additional supplies, such as gloves, will be provided.

We are a social enterprise from Berlin with a big dream: We want a world in which everyone contributes to a better and more sustainable future according to their possibilities and regardless of time budget, language or previous knowledge. For this purpose, we gather on vostel.de numerous engagement offers from non-profit organizations that are looking for volunteers. By doing this, we show concrete possibilities for action in order to become socially active and would like to motivate above all the younger generations to get involved for a better world.
